In our first home together we lived at the end of a cul-de-sac in a new neighborhood. On our first Halloween, as French maid and man in overcoat with French mustache (not very creative!), we were shocked to run out of candy in the first 15 minutes of opening the doors. My husband could barely get his car past the throngs of cars with parents waiting for their children to finish the street. We had no idea. Yes, there at Nob Hill, people would transport their children into the neighborhood for some fun. I found it quite amusing. We learned to have bags and bags of candy on hand for the throngs of adorable little trick or treaters, and even some treats for the parents. It became quite a party!
In 2006 we moved, up the ridge, to a peaceful place with lovely views, a smaller neighborhood...... and not one trick or treater. We had several bags of candy that first year....unfortunately we ended up eating most of it ourselves. In the last few years more children have moved into the neighborhood so traffic has picked up a bit. I think stocking up on candy is a good plan again. **Honey if you end up going to the store.....Reese's Peanut Butter Cups-Dark- are my favorite (The minis are fine)! Just in case we end up being left with all the goods.

Hi Heather!
Now.. what to do with the leftover goodies, right? :) We live in a cul de sac and many of the neighbor kids came by twice (our home is decorated with lots of scary kid stuff). That's okay by me because otherwise I eat it!
We do have a little left and my (adult) kids will eat it .. hopefully :)

Hello Leslie!
Your home must be very popular to have repeat trick or treaters-how fun! It's hard to believe it's November all of the sudden. Out with the candy and now on to Thanksgiving planning! Happy Friday Leslie. I always love it when you stop by. Your blog is one of my most favorites!
