Style Sessions Fall #1

Fall style is all about adding textures, rich, earthy hues and layers of warmth. As the days grow chilly there is an innate comfort to dressing for fall.

When combining pieces to create a cohesive look, some elements remain in
place for every season.  Adding a fresh color.....

or a touch of animal print

(or even a bit of sparkle)
can brighten up any season.

One of the first questions I ask myself each season is what is my color story?
Burgundys, plums, deep greens, pumpkins, winter whites are everywhere this season.

What are your favorites?

What do you have? What are your key pieces? What do you need to add to make it fresh?  These are the questions I ask myself at the start of a new season.

Style Session

Signature/Statement? (bracelet, necklace, bag, sunglasses, scarf)
Staple Classic? (sweater, blouse, jacket, jeans, trousers, trench, pencil skirt)
Special? (holiday sparkle, date night, event)
Shoe/Boot? (boots, booties, flats, stilettos, comfy classics)

What is your favorite color palette this season?
Burgundy, mixed metals, camel, deep greens, charcoals, crimson, coral,  winter white or_____??

The "perfect fall casual" is totally my style! Let's find it at TJ?! Very exciting, especially because it should actually feel like fall tomorrow finally! Love it Heather!

Hi Heather!

Burgundy has always been a good color on me so I am thrilled that it's current.
I also like teal. And dark forest greens as well as olive greens.

So many great looks featured here. I am going to pin a bunch of them to my Pinterest board.

Hi Heather! I love the leopard prints! I absolutely love the leopard print dress with the white coat pictured in your post! Other than that, I love the pops of orange, especially when paired with a white shirt and jeans! I did purchase a classic orange belted dress this season. It feels wonderful wearing it. It's like cheery warmth all over, and at the same time making a bold classic statement! Love the post! xo

Thank you Leslie! Your blog is so very chic-that means I'm on the right track:) I did this post in preparation for my first ever Style Session here in Chico. Gathering some fellow educators/friends to do some style shopping and Thai dinner afterwards. This post was a little prep to get us thinking about fall style and building a wardrobe.
Wish me luck-I hope it's a great night for all. Thanks for stopping by Leslie!
Cheers, Heather

Hello Adrienne! Welcome to Stylemindchic.... I am so happy to have you stop by. I don't know if you caught my comment on your 12th Anniversary post, but we have LOTS in common. 12 years of marriage, 3 step-children, love of Sonoma and style...oh, so much. My husband and I were just in the Napa Valley, with friends, last weekend. The weather was amazing-Indian Summer.
Glad you enjoyed the color story and thanks for sharing yours.
Cheers, Heather

Ahhhh Shelly, You are ever so stylish! I love that you were bold enough to buy a classic orange dress and rock it (I know you do!!). Orange makes me happy too! You have such effortless, classic style and so chic with super current touches. I only wish you were in town (Chico) for my first Style Session series (TJMaxx/Thai dinner)Thursday night for some amazing educators/friends here in town. I am so excited-it should be a blast. Someday I hope to use 'Style Sessions' to help recovering or under privileged women. Thanks for sharing your 'cheery warmth'-just like you always do.
Cheers girlfriend, xo Heather
