When the merry making of Christmas has passed I always like to take a few moments to reflect on the year gone by. I can honestly say it has been a busy and exciting year with the launch of my Stylemindchic Blog in January and the Stylemindchic Boutique in May. My only wish is that I could be granted more hours in each day, but I am energized and excited about this new adventure. To those of you who have faithfully read my blog, and added your voice through thoughtful comments, I am enormously grateful (big hugs!). I have also loved connecting with other bloggers (many of my favorites are listed in the right column-take a peek), who inspire me with their creativity, stylish vibe and generosity.  I am proud to be part of this inspiring community.

As we look forward to a fresh and sparkling 2013 we are in the mood for a party around here. Scott and I will continue our tradition of inviting neighbors in for a dessert buffet (also known as the final indulgence before the healthy resolutions for the New Year kick in!). No doubt the Laduree` macarons I picked up in Paris will be a delicious, pastel centerpiece...they might just be too pretty to eat.

From Paris to home ....happily jet lagged!

This is just a glimpse of a few photos taken on our trip

(thanks to my  iPhone and the Instagram, Diptic apps for making it easy to share pretty pics!)

I adore travel AND I love coming home which always makes for a win/win kind of experience. As many of us know international travel, especially with multiple flights, delays and customs, can be exhausting. We were up at 6:45 am Paris time on Thursday and arrived home in California at 2:30 am on Friday. Add in the extra 9 hours that Paris is ahead of California time and that is a very long 28 or so hour day. We had a 90 minute delay in Dallas after we had already boarded the plane. First the pilot announced, "We are waiting for a part", later he announced they had the part but were having a hard time "getting it to fit" (not comforting!). On a wing and a prayer we made it home. 

No worries.....jet lag, a warm, comfy bed, and mounds of laundry create the perfect excuse for a 'jammies' kind of day with some luxurious napping in my mind. Can hardly wait to down load the photos from our merry trip to London and Paris as well as catch up on all of my favorite blogs that I missed 

while we were away.

A merry jaunt to London & Paris for the Holidays!

As you read this my husband and I will be winging our way to London and Paris for a special holiday trip with my family. One of my favorite things about leaving on a holiday is that the busy planning, prepping and packing is all done....it's pure adventure from then on. I promise, I plan to immerse myself in every moment.

We are at that point my friends.....let the adventure begin!  I expect to take a break from regular blogging during the trip but hope to capture some lovely, sparkling images so look to my Instagram Feed (link in column to the right) or my Stylemindchic Facebook Page, or here on the blog for a glimpse of London and Paris on the go.

The halls are decked, the parties are winding down, packing is almost done and one

 more work day until we catch that plane.
